DistrictCollector Hemanta Keshav Patil directed officials and staff to strictly follow the guidelines prescribed by Central government to ensure smooth and effective conduct of the second phase of the census in Nagarkurnool district.

He stressed the need to maintain accuracy at every stage and ensure that there was no scope for errors in the census process.

The Collector, along with Achampet Sub-Collector Saloni Chhabra and Additional Collectors B. Chennayya and Deva Sahayam, inaugurated a two-day training programme for census officials at the main hall of the Nagarkurnool Collectorate on Thursday. The programme was organised to train district-level officials, Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs), municipal commissioners, census charge officers and assistant charge officers on their roles, responsibilities and procedures to be followed during the second phase.

Addressing the gathering, Hemanta Keshav Patil said the census was a crucial government exercise and that officials must ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information collected.

He instructed them to thoroughly understand the rules, regulations and guidelines issued by the Government of India and exercise utmost care while collecting, verifying and recording data.

The Collector directed officials and staff to discharge their assigned responsibilities efficiently and implement the procedures explained during the training while performing their field duties. He advised them to clarify any doubts during the training sessions and follow the prescribed methods without negligence.

At the programme, participants were trained on the activities to be undertaken during the second phase of the census, the responsibilities of various officials and the procedures to be followed during field-level operations. Trainers Shivaramakrishna and Rishith Reddy, who arrived from Hyderabad, conducted sessions for charge officers and their assistants.

The trainers explained the essential procedures and responsibilities required for the systematic implementation of the census. They emphasised coordination among officials and staff to ensure the successful completion of the second phase.

CPO Sujatha, DEO Ramesh Kumar, RDOs Archana and Janardhan Reddy, and officials from various departments attended the training programme.
