Thebirth anniversary of Panduga Sayanna Mudiraj was celebrated with great fervour at the district Collectorate on Thursday, under the aegis of the District Backward Classes Welfare department.

Wanaparthi MLA Tudi Megha Reddy and district Collector Adarsh Surabhi paid floral tributes to the portrait of Panduga Sayanna.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Tudi Megha Reddy lauded the life, struggles, and contributions of Panduga Sayanna to society. He described Panduga Sayanna as a great visionary who earned the admiration of the people by fighting for the rights of the marginalized sections of society.

He said that Sayanna’s life stood as a testament to his immense courage and his unwavering commitment to public welfare. District Collector Adarsh Surabhi urged the present generation to learn about the ideals of Panduga Sayanna. He encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from Sayanna’s life and cultivate values such as social equality, unity, and public service. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of every individual to honor the sacrifices of such great figures and carry their vision forward.

On this occasion, a song about the life of Panduga Sayanna, performed by artist Raja Ram Prakash, captivated the audience.

The event was attended by Wanaparthy Municipality Vice-Chairman Madhusudan Goud, officials from various government departments, public representatives, leaders of civil society organisations, representatives of the Mudiraj community, and other prominent figures.
