Hyderabad: International cultural festivals serve as vital bridges to deepen bilateral ties, foster mutual understanding, and showcase Telangana’s vibrant heritage on the global stage, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming K-Harmony Festa 2026, the Minister highlighted the significance of cross-cultural exchanges in building enduring friendships between India and the Republic of Korea. Organised by the Korean Cultural Centre India in collaboration with the Telangana government, the day-long event will take place at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on October 25.

The festival forms a core part of Korea Culture Day 2026, themed “One Light, Two Cities,” symbolising the historical and contemporary cultural affinities connecting Seoul and Hyderabad.

A key highlight of the event will be the joint presentation of traditional Telangana art forms including the classic Perini dance and vibrant Dappulu performances alongside high-energy Korean artistic acts. Minister Krishna Rao emphasised that such platforms not only introduce local artists to international audiences, but also drive state tourism and create economic opportunities for traditional performers.
