Sportshelp students develop discipline, punctuality, perseverance, self-confidence and leadership qualities, said Mahabubabad SP Shabarish.

He attended the zonal sports competitions and selection trials held at the ZPHS (Boys) school in Guduru as the chief guest on Thusday.

He interacted with student athletes from various schools who were taking part in the competitions.

Shabarish advised students to practise regularly in the sport of their choice. He said they should accept victories and defeats equally and treat failure as a challenge rather than becoming disappointed. Sportsmanship, discipline and continuous practice are the foundations of success, he said. The SP urged students to stay away from bad habits, drugs and other forms of addiction. He warned that addictions could damage the future of youth. He advised them to adopt a healthy lifestyle and focus on education, sports and creative activities.

He also asked them to follow the advice of their parents and teachers and work hard to achieve their goals.
