TelanganaCouncil of Higher Education Chairman V Balakista Reddy stressed the need to modernise institutional infrastructure, raise educational standards, and ensure effective implementation of higher education reforms on Thursday. Addressing the three-day XV National Conference of the All India University Employees Confederation on the Status of Higher Education at Osmania University, he highlighted systemic growth priorities. Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram emphasized the indispensable role of universities in nation-building, commending non-teaching staff for maintaining operational excellence. TGCHE Secretary Sriram Venkatesh called for inter-departmental synergy and workforce adaptability amid changing administrative policies.

Principal of the University College of Arts and Social Sciences Kasseem urged a substantial increase in education budget allocations to ensure sustainable development. Organised by Osmania University non-teaching service associations—the NGO Association, Staff Association, and Technical Staff Association—the summit brought together nearly 400 national delegates and over 1,000 participants from across India. Academic Audit Director N Kishen, university principals, deans, and service association office bearers attended the inaugural ceremony. Continuing through September 12, the conference will feature specialized technical sessions addressing policy changes, administrative reforms, research expansion, and employee service matters to strengthen university governance framework across Indian higher education institutions.
