        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">TheMalkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has launched an awareness initiative encouraging residents to hand over recyclable scrap to authorised scrap shops instead of dumping it on roadsides or disposing of it along with regular waste. As part of the initiative, the civic body has appealed to citizens to segregate recyclable materials at home and make use of nearby authorised scrap dealers. A QR code has been provided to help residents locate authorised scrap shops in their vicinity.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">The campaign covers several categories of recyclable material, including paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and metal. Newspapers, books, office paper and magazines can be handed over as paper scrap, while cartons, boxes and packaging material come under cardboard. Glass bottles, jars and containers, along with plastic bottles, shampoo bottles, drums and household plastic items, can also be recycled. Iron, aluminium, steel utensils and other metal scrap are included in the initiative.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">According to the campaign material, residents are advised to keep recyclable scrap clean and dry and avoid handing over wet, foul-smelling or contaminated material. Wet waste should not be mixed with recyclable scrap. The process has been designed around a digital system. Residents are asked to keep recyclables separately at home, scan the QR code and identify the nearest authorised scrap shop. The material will then be weighed and the quantity recorded digitally before it is handed over. The campaign states that residents will receive payment instantly for the scrap, while the collected material will subsequently be sent for recycling and given a new use.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">MMC has also urged residents to cooperate with scrap shop staff during digital weighing and payment. The civic body said an MMC certificate may also be provided, wherever applicable, for participation or recognition under the initiative.The campaign is aimed at reducing the amount of recyclable waste reaching landfills while promoting responsible waste management among citizens. The municipal corporation has called upon residents to participate in the programme and contribute to cleaner streets, reduced waste generation and a greener Malkajgiri.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">“Your scrap has value” is the key message of the campaign, with the civic body stressing that responsible disposal can turn household waste into a resource.</lang>
