MLA Naini Rajender Reddy suggested that officials of all departments should coordinate for the conduct of Vinayaka Chavithi and immersion celebrations in a peaceful atmosphere and with devotion without any untoward incidents. He instructed them to formulate a special action plan for the immersion programme in the context of low availability of water in tanks this year due to low rainfall.

A review meeting was held on the management of Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations at the Collectorate under the chairmanship of Hanumakonda district Collector Chahat Bajpai. Naini discussed various issues such as immersion arrangements, water supply, sanitation, electricity, traffic, police arrangements, etc.

He said that there is a need to focus on the immersion programme in advance as the rainfall has been less this year. Despite the limited time, he suggested that the officials should respond quickly and identify suitable ponds and water sources for immersion.

In areas where the water level is low, arrangements should be made to store water specifically for immersion, and immersion ponds should be set up at necessary places to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties. He asked the officials to keep cranes and other necessary equipment ready in advance during the immersion of huge idols and to take safety measures to avoid accidents.

Since there is a possibility of more Vinayaka mandapalas being set up in the city this year than last, he suggested that their details should be collected in advance and coordination between the relevant departments should be increased. Since a large number of devotees are likely to come to the Mandals, he asked that preventive measures be taken to prevent sanitation problems and additional staff should be deployed where necessary.
