New Delhi:Copper futures rose by Rs 3.65 to Rs 1,428.15 per kg on Thursday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for September delivery rose 0.26 per cent in 3,907 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh positions

Aluminium prices rose marginally by 30 paise to Rs 356.05 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of alu-minium for delivery in September rose 0.08 per cent in 143 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Zinc futures up on higher demand

Zinc prices rose by 0.05 per cent to Rs 429.25 per kg in futures trade due to higher bets by market participants. Zinc contracts for September delivery edged up by 20 paise in 481 lots.
