Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who went viral together in Baby, are back as a pair with the upcoming youthful entertainer EPIC – FIRST SEMESTER. The movie directed by Aditya Hasan and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya is all set to hit the theatres on September 11, 2026.

While talking about the film, Anand called EPIC – FIRST SEMESTER a ‘beautiful journey’ as opposed to a regular love story. The film chronicles love, family, career, and responsibilities of a middle-class youngster who goes abroad from Wanaparthy in search of his future.

Anand plays Aditya, an innocent young man torn between personal dreams and parental expectations. But his life takes a complete turn when he falls in love and gets into a live-in relationship. As per the actor, the situations have been portrayed in a very naturalistic angle so that the family audiences can easily connect to the story, without any kind of discomfort.

Anand even stated that he could connect to his character on a personal level as he too had completed his studies in the US. He had left his home town for higher education and taken the road less travelled in order to make a better life for himself.

Vaishnavi plays Kadali, who embodies the hidden struggles and responsibilities behind a cheerful facade. Anand even clarified that EPIC is not a sequel to Aditya Hasan’s popular 90s web series, though it is indeed a part of the same universe. As per the actor, the film has the power to connect to different generations owing to its relatable emotions and realistic humour.
