HighlightingKurnool district’s long-standing tradition of communal harmony, Superintendent of Police S Vikrant Patil on Wednesday appealed to citizens, Ganesh Utsav organizers, and religious elders to celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi and Navaratri in a peaceful, brotherly atmosphere.

Addressing a Peace Committee meeting at the Vyas Auditorium in the District Police Office, SP Vikrant Patil directed organizers not to erect pandals that obstruct roads or disrupt vehicular movement.

Emphasizing strict adherence to noise pollution standards, the SP clarified that DJ sound levels must not exceed 70 decibels, and no loudspeakers or sound systems will be allowed post 10 PM. He warned that equipment violating prescribed decibel limits would be impounded immediately.

Furthermore, he urged the public to exercise caution on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram, advising against sharing or believing unverified and inflammatory content.

Patil noted that minor oversights during festive seasons can escalate into major law-and-order issues, urging residents to report local disputes directly to the police rather than taking the law into their own hands.

He emphasized that maintaining a peaceful environment is crucial for bringing industries, investments, and employment opportunities to the district. If water levels remain insufficient at Vinayaka Ghat, alternative immersion arrangements will be made at Nannur and Ulindakonda on the city outskirts.

Religious elders, including Government Qazi Dr Abdus Salam, Maulana Zakir Ahmed, and Ganesh Utsav committee representatives assured full cooperation. DSP KV Raghavendra, city Circle Inspectors, and peace committee members attended the meeting as elaborate security plans were outlined for the immersion procession.
