Inall, 22 Bharat Rashtra Samithi legislators, including party working president KT Rama Rao, BRSLP Deputy Leader T Harish Rao and other senior leaders, were suspended for the entire monsoon session on Wednesday, after the members demanded a discussion on slogans of “death to KCR” allegedly raised by a Congress MLA against Leader of Opposition (LOP) and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The BRS members registered protest by coming into the well demanding immediate discussion and apologies for the slogans raised against the LOP. When the House assembled, the BRS members came into the well and raised slogans of ‘We want justice’.

In the meantime, Minister Adluri Lakshman, under rule 338 raised the issue of ‘shuddhikarana’ by the BRS leaders after Dalits went to KCR’s farmhouse a day before and sought discussion. With BRS MLAs protesting in the well of the House, some of the Congress members also came in but they were sent back by the Government Chief Whip Adi Srinivas.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu objected to the protest by the BRS members. He said that already the Opposition members insulted the Speaker and they were continuing to do the same. The members should resume their seats when Speaker speaks in the House. “They are talking about self-respect. The Telangana state is formed on self-respect. What justice they want? They insulted Dalits for walking to the farmhouse by washing with the turmeric water. It is the Dalits who should get Justice. What do you want to do with the state? We were in Opposition for 10 years but we never came into the well. This ‘landlord attitude’ will not work. The House should take up discussion about the ‘shuddikarana’ issue,” said Bhatti.

The Deputy CM further said that the House cannot allow people like these (BRS MLAs) to come and have argument with the Speaker. In a democracy, you should discuss but should not attack the Speaker. “Enough of your insults. Continued on Page 5
