ShadnagarMLA Veerlapalli Shankar on Wednesday clarified his recent remarks concerning former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), stating that wishing for anyone’s death was completely unjustifiable.

Speaking to the media, Shankar strongly condemned the alleged use of abusive and caste-based language against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and women ministers.

Shankar criticised what he described as reckless and vulgar remarks against constitutional authorities.

He said he was deeply distressed by the alleged conduct and had demanded that KCR attend the Assembly and participate in discussions on issues concerning the state.

The MLA asserted that Telangana belonged to its four crore people and not to any particular family. He also criticised alleged personal attacks on the Chief Minister and his family members.

“You have women in your own family. Would you speak like this in front of them?” Shankar asked, condemning the alleged use of profane language in political discourse.

Shankar released video clips purportedly showing BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) making an objectionable remark about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a speech in Karimnagar three days ago.

Referring to Sonia Gandhi’s support for the formation of Telangana, Shankar questioned the use of such language against her son. He urged political leaders to maintain restraint and dignity while expressing differences and said public discourse should not descend into personal or abusive attacks.
