HyderabadPolice Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Wednesday directed all government departments to work in close coordination and execute proactive preventive measures for the smooth conduct of the Ganesh festival.

Addressing an interdepartmental coordination meeting held at Visvesvaraya Bhavan in Khairatabad, Sajjanar instructed officials to immediately clear loose and hanging electricity, cable, and internet wires obstructing procession routes, maintaining sufficient height clearance to avoid mishaps like the Ramanthapur incident.

He stressed that pandal organizers must receive safe electrical connections adhering strictly to regulations, complete mandatory earthing, and secure necessary approvals from the Electrical Inspectorate. Additionally, electricity department officials were instructed to maintain continuous communication with law enforcement and inform local police before carrying out power shutdowns or wire clearance operations across procession routes.
