Bengaluru:The Karnataka government, led by Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, will complete 100 days in office on Thursday. The government plans to mark the occasion with a special programme titled "Dhruda Karnataka Sankalpa -- Shatakada Patha, Pragatiya Ratha" (Resolve for a Strong Karnataka – Path of a Century, Chariot of Progress) at the Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday, according to a press release. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event, while Shivakumar will preside over the programme. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, all state Cabinet ministers, legislators, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha members, Legislative Council members and senior government officials, including Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, will attend the event, it said. Beneficiaries of the government's five major guarantee schemes—Anna Bhagya, Gruha Lakshmi, Shakti, Yuva Nidhi and Gruha Jyothi—along with workers from various sectors and other sections of society, will participate in the programme. Shivakumar will directly interact with the beneficiaries and discuss the impact of the government's welfare initiatives on their lives and the state's future development, the release said. Farmers, auto-rickshaw drivers, porters, gig workers, street vendors, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers and civic sanitation workers are among those expected to participate. Shivakumar was sworn in as chief minister on June 3, following Siddaramaiah's resignation as CM on May 28, on the directions of the Congress high command.
