TheBJP district unit has urged the authorities to remove houses and plots belonging to poor families in Rekurthi, Vidyanagar and other parts of Karimnagar district from the 22-A prohibited list.

A delegation led by BJP district president Saini Mallesham submitted a representation to District Revenue Officer J Swamy at the Collectorate on Friday. Deputy Mayor Yadagiri Sunil Rao, Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, Parliament constituency convenor Boyinapalli Praveen Rao, corporators and other leaders were present. Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Rao alleged that several properties were included in the prohibited list without prior notice to owners. Many poor families had purchased private plots with their savings and had been living there for decades. The restrictions had left residents unable to register or sell their properties when required, causing financial hardship, he alleged. He demanded immediate removal of eligible properties from the 22-A list and action against officials responsible for the alleged lapses.

Sunil Rao urged the district administration to resolve the issue at the earliest, warning that the BJP would launch a large-scale agitation if the grievances of affected families were not addressed.
