TheEnforcement Directorate (ED) has widened and intensified its investigation into the murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, conducting searches at six locations in Hyderabad and Kadapa districts, as part of a separate probe into alleged money laundering linked to the case. The ED action assumes political significance as one of the searches was conducted at the residence of YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy in Pulivendula and Hyderabad. Officials reportedly seized documents from the premises.

The ED registered a separate case based on findings emerging from the investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the murder, including information that Rs 4 crore allegedly changed hands before the murder.
