Specialcampaign days for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls (SIR-2026) will be held across East Godavari district on Saturday and Sunday (August 22 and 23), District Election Officer and Collector Kirti Chekuri said on Friday. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be available at all polling stations in the eight Assembly constituencies from 9 am to 5 pm on both days to receive applications and assist voters.

The campaign aims to facilitate enrolment of all eligible citizens, verification of voter details, inclusion of eligible names and examination of names of ineligible or deceased voters as per rules. Corrections in voter details will also be taken up. Form-6 will be accepted for fresh voter enrolment, while Form-8 can be submitted for corrections or changes in name, address and other details, change of address and EPIC-related modifications. Form-7 will be used for objections or deletion of names from the electoral roll.

The Collector directed BLO Supervisors to inspect polling stations and ensure the presence of BLOs, proper receipt of applications and provision of necessary information to voters. AEROs and Additional AEROs have also been asked to remain available in the field to address voters’ queries. Officials were directed to create awareness at village and ward level about SIR-2026 and the use of Forms 6, 7 and 8. Citizens were urged to verify their names and details in the electoral roll and seek corrections wherever required. She warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against BLOs and BLO Supervisors who remain absent without prior permission.

She directed all election officials to work in coordination to ensure that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to enrol and that the electoral roll remains accurate and transparent.
