TheCID arrested the prime accused in the alleged fake agricultural loan scam at the State Bank of India Ganapavaram branch, West Godavari district and produced him before the ACB Court in Rajamahendravaram. The accused, identified as Thoomu Kesava Srinivas of Paidiparru village in Tanuku mandal of West Godavari, was allegedly involved in securing loans by overstating the value of low-value lands. The CID alleged that he had been colluding with bank officials and panel valuers to inflate land values and obtain loans, resulting in financial losses to the bank. According to the CID, Srinivas had been absconding to evade arrest in connection with several cases registered over the alleged irregularities at the SBI Ganapavaram branch.

Acting on the directions of the higher officials, a special team of CID (Visakhapatnam) arrested Srinivas in Crime No 18/2022 of the CID Police Station recently. He was produced before the ACB Court in Rajamahendravaram, and the Judge ordered judicial remand and he was sent to Rajamahendravaram Central Jail. On August 20, the CID produced Srinivas before the ACB Court on a PT warrant in connection with Crime No 34/2022 of the CID Police Station.
