TransportMinister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy inspected the RTC bus station at Annavaram on Friday and reviewed the facilities being provided to passengers. He went around the bus station and checked the basic amenities available for commuters. He also interacted with passengers and sought their views on the implementation of the free bus travel scheme for women under the Stree Shakti scheme. Several women passengers expressed satisfaction over the implementation of the scheme and said it had been useful for them. At the same time, some women requested the minister to increase the number of Pallevelugu and Express services and take steps to ensure that buses halt at all authorised stops. Responding to their requests, the minister directed RTC officials to take measures to provide better facilities and ensure that passengers do not face inconvenience at the bus station. Later, the minister had breakfast with RTC drivers, conductors and other staff at the bus station canteen. The RTC staff brought several issues to his notice, which the minister discussed with them.
