DistrictCollector Khushbu Gupta directed engineering and revenue officials to expedite pending land acquisition, compensation payments to displaced families and rehabilitation processes related to irrigation projects in the district.

On Friday, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy reviewed the progress of irrigation projects with all district Collectors through a video conference from Hyderabad. Collector Khushbu Gupta participated in the meeting from her camp office in Mahabubnagar.

After the video conference, the Collector directed district officials to speed up pending land acquisition, compensation payments and rehabilitation works. She instructed officials to identify issues related to land acquisition at the field level, interact with farmers and resolve their grievances at the earliest.

During the video conference, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stressed the need to complete pending land acquisition works for timely completion of irrigation projects.

He directed officials to expedite land acquisition and rehabilitation works to facilitate the creation of new ayacut areas. As funds required for land acquisition are available, there should be no delay in completing the process, he said, directing Collectors to ensure that project works face no hurdles.

Revenue Additional Collector J.L.B. Haripriya, Special Deputy Collector for Land Acquisition Ram Reddy and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
