Tenstudents of Swarna Bharathi Institute of Science and Technology (SBIT), an autonomous institution in Khammam, have secured Software Developer Associate positions with Schnurr International LLC, the college management said on Friday.

SBIT Chairman Gundala Krishna said the students’ selection by the international company was a matter of pride for the institution and would further enhance its reputation. Schnurr International has operations in several countries, including Malaysia, Oman, Qatar and India, he said.

The students, from the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and Computer Science and Design (CSD) streams, benefited from training programmes conducted by the college’s Department of Training and Placements, college Secretary and Correspondent Dr G Dhatri said.

The training included technical skill development, communication skills, aptitude and coding, which helped the students prepare for the recruitment process, she said.

A total of 173 candidates participated in the selection process, which included an online assessment, technical round and HR interview. Ten students were finally selected for the Software Developer Associate positions, Dhatri said.

According to college Principal Dr G Raj Kumar, student Pasumarthi Sai Avinash secured an annual package of Rs 12 lakh.

College Vice-Chairman K Srichaitanya said one student was offered an annual package of Rs 12 lakh, three students Rs 10 lakh each and six students Rs 6 lakh each.

The selected candidates ill also receive internship stipends for three months based on their respective packages, with stipends of Rs 24,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 per month, the management said.
