IrrigationMinister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said the Meteorological Department had warned that there might not be adequate rainfall during September and October due to the impact of El Nino. He said the water available in Nagarjuna Sagar may have to be conserved and used for Hyderabad’s drinking water requirements through the coming summer. Therefore, the available water must be used cautiously, giving equal importance to both agricultural and drinking water needs, he clarified.
