        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Ina major development in the fatal road accidentcase involving Jana Sena Rajya Sabha MP Lingamneni Ramesh’s son Sanjush, Cyberabad Police on Friday said blood samples of the accused had been sent for forensic examination to find whether he consumed any alcohol or drugs.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">The police however confirmed that the preliminary testsfor alcohol and drug turned out to be negative. The Motor Vehicle Inspector also completed the inspection of the seized Aston Martin car.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">On August 16, the Aston Martin car whichSanjush was driving allegedly hit 26-year-old Bharati Mukhi, a saleswoman at a retail out, near Inorbit Mall in Madhapur in Hyderabad. She later died. Madhapur police booked a case against Sanjush and released him on bail.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Police clarified that Sanjushwas granted station bail because the offence registered against him is punishable with less than seven years of imprisonment and there were no circumstances warranting his arrest at that stage of the investigation.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Police said Section 106(1) ) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which carries a maximum punishment of five years, was invoked based on the facts and circumstances available at the time. Since the offence carries a punishment of less than seven years, the Investigating Officer was required to consider whether arrest was necessary under Section 35 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Supreme Court's guidelines in the Arnesh Kumar vs State of Bihar case.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">According to DCP Ritiraj, the accused was apprehended immediately after the case was registered. He was subjected to preliminary tests for alcohol and drugs, and both tests returned negative. His blood samples were subsequently collected and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for scientific examination. The police also collected CCTV footage and other evidence, and they are examining the footage to determine the speed of the car that caused the accident.</lang>

      <p style=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">DCP further said after assessing the material available at that stage and found no circumstances requiring the accused to be arrested. A notice under Section 35 was therefore served on him, directing him to appear and cooperate with the investigation.The police are investigating the case.</lang>
