MalkajgiriMunicipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy came down heavily on civic lapses during a surprise field inspection in Kamala Nagar and Mahesh Nagar under the AS Rao Nagar Division. He directed officials to swiftly address sanitation issues, encroachments, unauthorised constructions and road-safety concerns.

During the inspection, the Commissioner expressed displeasure over garbage being dumped along road margins, in vacant plots and at other public places.

Taking note of negligence in maintaining sanitation at the field level, the Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner to transfer Sanitary Field Assistant (SFA) Vamsi from the area.

He suggested that Anjali, who had earlier served as the in-charge SFA of the locality, be posted in his place.

At Nikhil Boys Hostel on Road No. 3 in Kamala Nagar, the Commissioner found that a kitchen and office room had been constructed in the designated parking area. Town Planning officials were instructed to initiate action as per rules against the unauthorised use of the parking space. The Commissioner also inspected Ayyappa Swamy Temple Road, where he found conditions affecting the safe movement of school vehicles and other motorists.

Engineering officials were directed to take appropriate technical measures to resolve the issue without causing inconvenience to the public. At the Radhika Multiplex area, he inspected a construction allegedly encroaching on the footpath and noted that construction material had been stored on the road for a prolonged period. Town Planning officials were directed to take action against such encroachments and obstructions to public movement.
