New Delhi: Copper futures rose by Rs 12.30 to Rs 1,390.70 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for September delivery rose 0.89 per cent in a business turnover of 1,907 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Aluminium futures climb on fresh bets

Aluminiumprices rose by Rs 1.60 to Rs 346.30 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of aluminium for delivery in September edged up 0.46 per cent in 153 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Zinc futures up on increased demand

Zincprices rose by 0.98 per cent to Rs 397.75 per kg in futures trade due to higher bets by market participants. Zinc contracts for September delivery edged up by Rs 3.85 in 348 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher demand in the spot market.
