NTRdistrict collector Dr G Lakshmisha has directed officials to make foolproof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the UPSC Civil Services Main examinations, scheduled from August 21 to 30.

The collector, along with UPSC Inspection Officer N Rajeswara Rao, held a coordination meeting with custodians, liaison officers, venue supervisors, and officials of the Revenue, Medical and Health, Postal, Public Transport, and Electricity departments at the Collectorate on Thursday.

He said 124 candidates would appear for the examinations at SRR and CVR Government Junior College in Vijayawada. The Essay paper will be held on August 21, General Studies-I and II on August 22, and General Studies-III and IV on August 23. The Indian Language and English papers will be conducted on August 29 and optional subjects on August 30. The examinations will be held in two sessions, from 9 am to noon and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Dr Lakshmisha instructed officials to strictly follow UPSC guidelines and ensure security, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and medical facilities at the examination centre. He stressed that there should be no scope for negligence and officials must exercise utmost caution in every aspect.

He also directed officials to ensure proper facial authentication of candidates through the mobile application. The Public Transport Department was asked to operate buses from different parts of the city to help candidates reach the centre on time. He said that a control room has been set up at 91549 70454 for examination-related coordination. DRO M Lakshmi Narasimham, Vijayawada RDO Vennela Sreenu and other officials attended the meeting.
