Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh swimmer N Pavani Sarayu stole the spotlight by winning two bronze medals in the Girls Group A category at the 52nd Junior National Aquatics Championships-2026, being held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Representing Andhra Pradesh, Pavani Sarayu secured bronze medals in the 400m Individual Medley and 200m Individual Medley events.

She clocked an impressive 5:19.31 in the 400m IM and 2:30.68 in the 200m IM, earning valuable medals for the State at the national-level championship.

Adding to Andhra Pradesh’s medal tally, Pushpahas Murari Sunnam won bronze in the Boys Group 1B 100m Backstroke, recording a timing of 59.14 seconds.

Another AP swimmer, Yagna Sai M, bagged bronze in the Boys Group 1B 1,500m Freestyle with timing of 16:56.51. The championships are being conducted from August 18 to 23, with young swimmers from across the country competing in various events.

The impressive performances of the three swimmers brought laurels to Andhra Pradesh and reflected the growing talent in the State’s aquatics sector.

AP Amateur Aquatics Association (APAAA) Chairman K Ravikanth, President M Obul Reddy and Secretary Mohan Venkat Ram congratulated the swimmers on their achievements.

Members of the Krishna District Aquatic Association (KDAA) and NTR District Swimming Association (NTRDSA) also appreciated the swimmers and wished them continued success in the remaining events of the championship.
