TheVeterinary Association of India (VAI) has announced the formation of its Telangana State Chapter (VAI-TG), bringing veterinarians, academicians, scientists, administrators, pet practitioners and students onto a common platform. The chapter will work to strengthen the veterinary profession, promote animal welfare, encourage knowledge exchange and organise scientific and professional programmes across Telangana. Retired IAS officer Dr M.V. Reddy has been appointed State President, with Dr Suresh Pothani as Associate President. Prof. (Dr) M. Kishan Kumar and Dr K. Simha Rao will serve as Vice-Presidents. Prof. (Dr) D. Sakarama has been named Treasurer and Dr Pulikanti Radhakrishna Secretary.

The chapter also includes an executive committee, advisory council and expert panel, along with dedicated forums for field veterinarians and pet practitioners. VAI expressed confidence that the new chapter would contribute significantly to professional growth and animal welfare in Telangana.
