Thefirst hearing in the High Court was held on Thursday for the petition filed by the Students Protection Forum (SPF) seeking the grant of grace marks to R22 regulation students.

A single-judge bench headed by Justice Juvvadi Sridevi heard the petition, and the SPF advocate, Anil Raj, presented arguments on behalf of the students.

The SPF presented the problems faced by R22 students, the need for grace marks, and their impact on students' educational and employment opportunities to the court.

After hearing the arguments, the court directed JNTUH to submit its instructions on the provisions related to the R22 regulation, details on grace marks, and the university’s stand. The next hearing was adjourned to August 25.

On the occasion, SPF State President Rahul Nayak said, “The future of thousands of R22 students is linked to this issue. Many students are facing difficulties because they cannot complete their degrees due to a small difference in marks. Despite receiving job offers, some have not completed their degrees and have had their joining delayed, while others have also lost job opportunities. That is why we request the university to take a positive decision keeping in mind the future of the students,” said Rahul Nayak.

SPF advocate Anil Raj said, “We have brought the necessary issues to the court’s attention on behalf of the R22 students. The court, after hearing the arguments, ordered the university to submit details related to the R22 regulation and grace marks.
