Ina significant development, the State Government has permitted VPR Mining Infrastructure Private Limited for establishment of a private mega industrial park in 372.05 acres at Vadlapudi village in Manubolu mandal of SPSR Nellore district under PPP Park Policy.

The decision comes close on the heels of unveiling the Public-Private Partnership Policy. Incentives have been doled out to the private investors as promised for setting up of private industrial parks with plug and play infrastructure. The project will provide job opportunities for 2,000.

The request of VPR Mining Infrastructure Private Limited for allotment of 26.22 acres of government land in Sy. No. 1100-1, on actual cost basis, for continuity purposes has been accepted. The developer owned 345.83 acres in the project site and sought a small parcel of government land to meet the requirement to go ahead with the mega industrial park project. Accordingly, with the remarks of the APIIC, the request of VPR Mining Infrastructure Private Limited was placed before the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) in its meeting held on August 12, along with the recommendations of the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC).

A GO was issued on Thursday sanctioning the allotment of 26.22 acres of government land in Sy. No. 1100-1, on actual cost basis, to for contiguity purposes and extending the applicable incentives under the Private Parks Policy.

The slew of incentives include grant of capital subsidy of Rs3 lakh per acre, as per the policy, to be paid as per the milestones achieved by the developer, duly adhering to the specifications detailed in the guidelines of the Private Parks Policy.

The government approved upfront incentives as per the policy duly providing 100 per cent exemptions of land conversion charges (NALA) by the Revenue Department, change of land use (CLU) and layout approval charges by the Urban Development Authority concerned, as applicable and permitted APIIC to list the details of the park of the project proponent on its (APIIC) website, once 40 per cent physical progress of construction of park infrastructure is completed, to assist the marketing of the industrial plots developed as per the specifications.

APIIC and the line departments have been directed to facilitate the provision of the following external infrastructure: Water Works Department (WRD) and the APIIC to facilitate water supply of 4,000 KLD to the park from the Sangam Reservoir (at a distance of 37 km). The Energy Department has been advised to facilitate power supply to the site (nearest 33/11kv sub-station at Veerampalli at a distance of 6.5 km). The Vice Chairman & Managing Director, APIIC /the Director of Industries, AP and he District Collector, SPSR Nellore District have been told to fast-track the project's implementation.
