The makers of Dhanush’s upcoming project OM have announced another good news as the team confirmed that Malayalam superstar Mammootty has completed his part of the shoot for the much-anticipated action entertainer directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.

MammoottyKampany shared a video on social media welcoming the veteran actor back in Kochi after wrapping up his portions for the film.Earlier, director Rajkumar Periasamy had stated that in the film, Mammootty has played a character named Karthikeyan, which has a great impact on the story. The team has been busy with the shoots as the film has been progressing at a rapid pace after wrapping up the crucial portions in Malaysia. During the trip, the cast and crew celebrated the actor’s National Award along with National Award-winning singer Dhanush, director Rajkumar Periasamy, and editor Kalaivanan on the sets of the film.

As the makers had announced that the film will hit the theatres on October 16, as per the latest reports, the release date might get postponed. Though the report stated that an official confirmation might be out any day now, neither the makers nor the team have confirmed the report yet.

Besides, the film also stars Bollywood legend Naseeruddin Shah apart from the National Award-winning Dhanush in the lead. With the title ‘OM: Chapter 1’, it is anticipated that the makers will roll out the subsequent parts of the film too which will take the story forward.

The first look of the film that went viral on social media introduced Dhanush as a woodcutter involved in the illegal trade of red sanders being chased by the police. The action-filled promos promise to deliver a mass entertainer that will see Dhanush’s old avatar back on the big screen. As Wunderbar Films unveiled the title of the film, they mentioned that it is one of the most expensive projects that Dhanush has ever been a part of and promised the fans that it marks the return of Dhanush’s classic hero persona.

Starring Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, the film features music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by EzhilArasu, editing by Kalaivanan R, and costumes by Kavya Sriram. With Mammootty completing his shoot, the fans are excited to know more about Dhanush’s OM.
