IndianRed Cross Society Telangana State governing council member EV Srinivas Rao has welcomed the decision of the State government to implement pensions for thalassemia and sickle cell patients from August 15.

Although the government had issued orders in 2018 for the welfare of thalassemia and sickle cell patients, the pension scheme had not been implemented all these years. He expressed happiness over Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s announcement to implement the pension from August 15.

He said the issues faced by thalassemia and sickle cell patients were brought to the attention of the State government with the support of Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy and Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy.
