CPI district secretary P Murali called on people to join campaign activities from August 6 to 15 and to make ‘Chalo Delhi meeting at Ramlila Maidan to be held on September 1 successful.

He criticised the Central government policies for failing to control the sharply rising prices of essentials and the rising unemployment and unfilled government vacancies that threaten youth futures.

Murali demanded to stop privatisation of public sector units, protection of workers’ rights, and abolition of contract and outsourcing practices. He asked for guaranteed minimum support prices for farmers and strengthened education and health services.

He also urged strict measures for women’s safety and protection of constitutional rights for Dalits, Adivasi and minorities, and called for stopping attacks on democratic rights.
