Thetotal number of voters in Tirupati district has come down to 14,81,603 in the draft electoral roll prepared under Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, compared to 17,69,429 voters before the revision exercise. The draft electoral roll was released by Tirupati district Collector and District Election Officer Dr S Venkateswar on Friday.

Addressing the media at the Collectorate, the Collector said the revision was carried out as per the directions of Election Commission of India through a door-to-door verification drive. During the exercise, officials identified 2,87,826 cases involving absent voters, shifted voters, deceased voters and duplicate entries.

He said enumeration forms were submitted by 14,81,603 voters. Although mapping process is still pending for 1,62,230 voters, their names have been included in the draft electoral roll. Notices will be issued to these voters between August 1 and August 30, giving them time to submit documents prescribed by Election Commission. Eligible voters, who produce required documents will continue in final electoral roll.

The Collector said the highest number of pending mapping cases were in Tirupati Assembly constituency with 96,280 cases, followed by Chandragiri with more than 50,000 cases. Sharing details of the identified cases, he said Tirupati Assembly constituency recorded 90,882 absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate cases, followed by Chandragiri with 50,273, Venkatagiri with 36,497, Srikalahasti with 32,836, Sullurpeta with 27,946, Railway Koduru with 26,047 and Satyavedu with 23,345. These lists have been made available with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for public verification.

The Collector said claims, objections, corrections, fresh voter registrations and deletion requests can be submitted until August 30. The final electoral roll will be published on October 3. According to draft electoral roll as on July 31, 2026, the district has 7,20,329 male voters, 7,61,188 female voters and 86 transgender voters and 2,221 polling stations. The draft electoral rolls are available with Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, all polling stations and on Election Department website for public verification. Voters have been asked to verify their details and submit applications within the stipulated period if any corrections are required.
