Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that applicants can submit documents such as a voter ID card, driving licence, or bank passbook--not just an Aadhaar card--as proof of residence, assuring the public that there was no need for unnecessary anxiety.

The minister announced that the first phase of construction work for the 'Indiramma Towers' scheme--a prestigious initiative of the state government--will commence in the last week of August. However, the minister made it clear that there was no intention to extend the application deadline under any circumstances and emphasised that the application process must be completed by August 10.

Speaking to the media at the Secretariat on Friday, the minister revealed that the tender process for the construction of Indiramma Towers has already begun. He stated that all necessary arrangements have been finalised to start the work immediately upon the completion of the tender process.

He noted that the government's goal is to construct one lakh (100,000) houses within the Hyderabad city limits. As part of this initiative, the government is undertaking a pilot project in the first phase to build a total of 8,000 houses--allocating 500 houses to each of the 16 selected constituencies. He added that site identification has already been completed in these 16 constituencies as well as in four additional ones, and the construction of the total one lakh houses will be expanded in a phased manner.

He explained that the towers would be constructed on government-owned land worth hundreds of crores of rupees, and an undivided share of 20 to 22 square yards would be registered in each beneficiary's name free of cost. He noted that the market value of each flat, including the land component, would range from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 60 lakh. He also revealed that 'Indiramma Towers' are being constructed near Falaknuma Palace.
