Elaboratebandobast and surveillance arrangements have been made to safeguard devotees visiting Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple in Lal Darwaza for the historic Ashada Bonalu celebrations, which are slated for August 9.

On Friday, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar participated in the traditional Shikhara Pooja and Dwajarohanam ceremonies at the Lal Darwaza Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple and offered special prayers.

According to the temple committee, inviting the City Police Commissioner to these sacred rituals has been a long-standing tradition during the annual Bonalu celebrations.

Addressing the gathering, he said the police had completed extensive preparations following coordination meetings with GHMC, Water Works, Electricity and Roads & Buildings (R&B) Departments to provide seamless facilities for devotees.

Sajjanar said, “Over 2,000 police personnel, including SHE Teams, Crime Branch and crime prevention units, have been deployed to ensure foolproof security and smooth conduct of the Bonalu celebrations at the Lal Darwaza Temple. These arrangements have been made to safeguard devotees, prevent crimes such as eve-teasing, chain snatching and pickpocketing, and ensure a peaceful festival.” The Commissioner said that the Bonalu festivities at Golconda and Balkampet concluded peacefully, and similar comprehensive arrangements have been made for the Lal Darwaza celebrations under the supervision of the South Zone Police. He assured that every effort has been taken to ensure devotees do not face any inconvenience during the festivities.
