HyderabadCustoms revenue in FY 2025–26 registered 112 per cent growth over the previous year with Rs 9,391 crore.

An interactive session was held on Customs Reforms introduced in Budget 2026 at Hyderabad Air Cargo Complex on Friday. Surjit Bhujabal, Special Secretary & Member, CBIC, graced the occasion in the presence of Arun Kumar, Chief Commissioner, Hyderabad Zone, and Ajazuddin, Principal Commissioner of Customs, along with other officials.

Officials from FSSAI, CDSCO, Plant Quarantine, Textile Committee, and representatives from GMR, CONCOR, BATCO, FIEO, ACFI, IndiGo Airlines, Air India, and Hyderabad Customs Brokers participated in the session. Constructive suggestions were received to facilitate trade and enhance the ease of doing business.

During the intervention, it was revealed that Hyderabad Customs revenue in FY 2025–26 was Rs 9,391 crore, registering 112% growth over the previous year. Customs revenue for the April–June 2026 quarter increased by 223%, with collections of Rs 5,587 crore.

The sectors contributing the major share of revenue in FY 2025–26 were: Machinery – Rs 4,064 crore; Medical Equipment – Rs 726 crore; Chemicals/Pharmaceuticals – Rs 854 crore; Defence/Arms & Ammunition – Rs 1,046 crore and Gold/Precious Metals – Rs 849 crore.

Hyderabad Customs operates at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Air Cargo Complex, ICD Sanathnagar, two Container Freight Stations (CFSs), and ICD Thimmapur. In addition, two new Inland Container Depots (ICDs) are in the pipeline to augment existing infrastructure and ease congestion. It was observed that establishing product-specific ICDs and Air Freight Stations (AFSs) would facilitate faster clearance of goods, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen overall trade facilitation.

The revised Baggage Rules, enhancing duty-free allowances, are being implemented. Various trade facilitation measures, including deferred duty payment up to 30 days for AEO clients, the Eligible Manufacturer Importer (EMI) Scheme, auto goods registration for imports, and system-based import and export clearances, are also being implemented.

The meeting also highlighted that onboarding Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) onto the Customs Single Window Interface has enabled faster clearances. Various relaxations introduced to facilitate e-commerce trade were discussed.

Discussions also included creating awareness about the ATITHI Mobile Application, which enables international passengers to file online declarations for dutiable and prohibited goods carried in their baggage. The meeting concluded with all stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to facilitating international trade and enhancing the ease of doing business.
