DistrictCollector and District Election Officer O Anand has released draft voter list for Anantapur district on Friday at the Collectorate and handed over copies to Electoral Registration Officers.

The Collector said that the draft voter list was published as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme, in accordance with the directives of Election Commission of India. He informed that the list shows 1,790,436 voters, including 8,83,174 men (49.33%), 9,07,053 women (50.66%), and 209 transgenders (0.01%). A total of 2,48,087 voters (12.17%) were deleted under ASDD category—46,276 untraceable/absent, 79,582 permanently shifted, 75,378 deceased, 46,452 duplicates, and 399 others.

The Collector said that claims and objections can be filed from July 31 to August 30. Voters may verify the roll online or at the Collector’s office, ERO/AERO offices, or through their BLO between 10:30 am and 5 pm.

He explained the constituency totals as - Rayadurgam 2,36,579; Uravakonda 2,03,306; Guntakal 2,44,853; Tadipatri 2,19,095; Singanamala 2,22,458; Anantapur Urban 2,28,673; Kalyandurg 2,10,918; Raptadu 2,24,554.

There are also 2,021 service voters.

DRO A Malola, Election Wing Deputy Tahsildar Kanakaraj, Senior Assistant Samuel, Election Deputy Tahsildars Sujatha, Hariprasad, Keshavareddy, Nagendraprasad, Habibakhanum, Nagamani, and Suvarna and Senior Assistant Srinivas were present at the meeting.
