BRS leaders from the Warangal West constituency staged a peaceful dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday, demanding that the Centre immediately announce a railway division with Kazipet as its headquarters during the ongoing Parliament session. The protest was organised under the direction of former government Chief Whip and former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, with leaders alleging that Telangana has been consistently overlooked in railway development.

The protesters demanded that the Kazipet Railway Coach Factory remain under government control and that 80 per cent of employment opportunities at the facility be reserved for local youth. They also sought the retention of crew links at Kazipet, establishment of a centralised crew lobby at Kazipet or Warangal, construction of a foot overbridge at Bodagutta, apprenticeship opportunities for local ITI students, vending zones for small traders and improved railway infrastructure, including new train services from Kazipet. The BRS leaders further urged the Centre to increase railway budget allocations for Telangana, expedite pending railway projects and fulfil assurances made under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. They alleged that the BJP-led Central government had ignored Telangana’s legitimate demands, while accusing BJP and Congress MPs from the State of failing to secure the region’s rightful share of railway development and funding.
