DoppalapudiRatna Babu, a lecturer in Physical Education at Vijaya College of Physical Education (BPEd College), Nunna, near Vijayawada, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physical Education by Annamalai University, Chidambaram, for his research in sports science. The degree was conferred at Annamalai University in Chidambaram on July 27. His doctoral thesis, titled “Influence of Treadmill Running on Different Levels of Inclination on Selected Cardiopulmonary Fitness and Psychomotor Variables among Sprinters and Middle Distance Runners,” examined the impact of treadmill running at varying inclinations on the cardiopulmonary fitness and psychomotor performance of sprinters and middle-distance runners. The research was conducted under the guidance of Dr B Parthiban, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Annamalai University. The thesis was evaluated by Dr V Mahadevan, Director, University of Madras, who served as the External Examiner. Congratulating Ratna Babu, N Satyanarayana Reddy, Chairman of Vijaya College of Physical Education, and Principal Dr B Uday Kumar said his achievement would inspire aspiring researchers inphysical education and sports science.
