TheAndhra State Carrom Association (ASCA), in association with Nellore District Carrom Association, will organise three-day Andhra State 1st Ranking Carrom Tournament–2026 from Friday (July 31) at Nellore Club.

ASCA General Secretary Shaik Abdul Jaleel said nearly 200 players from 15 districts across the State are expected to participate in the championship, which will determine state ranking points for selection to the Andhra Pradesh team for upcoming national championships.

The tournament will feature competitions in men’s and women’s singles categories, with all matches being conducted on a knockout basis. DSR Murthy will serve as chief referee, while SK Sajida has been appointed as assistant chief referee.

Several top players, including international players Ch Janardhan Reddy of Visakhapatnam and B Shobhika of Income Tax department, Andhra Pradesh Secretariat employee and Guinness World Record holder Sk Husna Sameera, are expected to compete along with other leading players from across the State.

Nellore District Carrom Association and Nellore Club will provide free boarding and accommodation to all participating players.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy as the chief guest and APTRANSCO Director J Venkateswara Rao as distinguished guest will participate in the inaugural ceremony.

The announcement was made at a meeting chaired by Tournament co-chairman Malireddy Kotareddy, former Ranji cricketer and Nellore Club member, Nellore District Carrom Association president Srimannarayana and Secretary S Srinivasulu.
