Ina major crackdown on unsafe street food manufacturing, the Hyderabad Food and Administrative Safety Task Force (H-FAST), along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Food Safety officials, busted several unhygienic manufacturing units and destroyed 25 kg of ready-to-eat street food. Officials seized 10 kg of prepared samosas and 15 kg of prepared golgappe after finding them unfit for consumption. Inspections were conducted at a puri manufacturing unit and three samosa units located in NM Guda, Attapur. During operations, officers found the facilities operating without valid food licenses under poor hygienic conditions, using substandard raw materials, and violating multiple food safety regulations. To safeguard public health, the prepared food was discarded on the spot, and legal proceedings were initiated against operators under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

In a separate drive, officers inspected Urvi Food Products, a soya chunks manufacturing unit in Jalpally, uncovering severe hygiene violations.

The inspection revealed workers handling food with bare hands and feet, poor sanitation, fly infestations, an absence of mandatory food safety records, and improper storage of raw materials alongside finished goods. The food safety officer immediately ordered the destruction of unhygienically manufactured soya chunks, and legal action was initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. H-FAST stated that enforcement drives will continue across Hyderabad to curb unsafe manufacturing practices and ensure food sold to the public meets prescribed safety standards.
