TelanganaBJP Chief N Ramachandra Rao termed Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's raising hue and cry over police action in Delhi following the Cockcroch Janata Party (CJP) parliament march violence as selective outrage. Taking to social media platform X on Thursday, he reminded how the Congress-led state government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had deployed police to suppress protesting job-seeking students in Hyderabad. He noted that when the state's youth took to the streets after being betrayed over the promise of two lakh jobs annually, police force was unleashed upon them, yet there was complete radio silence from the Congress leadership.

Rao stated that if there were genuine concern for students, Rahul Gandhi would have pulled up his protégé, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, for jeopardising the future of 20 lakh SC, ST, BC, and EBC students by failing to clear pending fee reimbursement dues. He remarked that this silence exposes how selective outrage remains his favourite flavour. Furthermore, he highlighted that neither Rahul Gandhi nor anyone in his family has apologised to the people of Telangana for firing on students during the 1969 Telangana agitation.

Besides, during the second phase of the Telangana agitation, nearly 1,200 youth and students laid down their lives because of the Congress Party’s repeated U-turns and betrayals, for which no apology has been tendered.

Apart from this, he alleged that the Congress government in Telangana even tried to grab university lands for real estate development. Pointing directly at Rahul Gandhi, N Ramachandra Rao stated that it was never really about welfare or student rights, asserting that the Congress leader is merely using students as political pawns for selfish gains.
