Hyderabad:Moderaterainfall across catchment areas over the past two days has triggered fresh flood inflows into Hyderabad's twin reservoirs, Himayatsagar and Osmansagar, providing a welcome boost to the city's water resources. According to the Hyderabad Water Board, Himayatsagar is currently receiving an inflow of 400 cusecs. The reservoir's water level has risen to 1,760.80 feet, holding 2.138 TMC of water against its full reservoir level (FRL) of 1,763.50 feet and total storage capacity of 2.521 TMC.

Similarly, Osmansagar is recording an inflow of 150 cusecs, with its water level standing at 1,783.35 feet and storage reaching 2.241 TMC, against an FRL of 1,790.00 feet and total capacity of 3.518 TMC. Despite the fresh inflows, the Water Board has not opened the gates of either reservoir, as water levels remain below FRL limits. Officials confirmed the situation is under constant watch, with storage levels being monitored round the clock. The fresh inflows serve as a positive development for Hyderabad's drinking water security, as ongoing monsoon showers continue to replenish key water sources supplying the capital.
