	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">India’s Gen Z is often seen through the prism of social media, influencers and cam-pus activism. But beyond the hashtags and sloganeering, a quieter and far more pow-erful story is unfolding. Across college campuses, co-working spaces and even hostel rooms, thousands of young Indians are building companies, creating jobs and devel-oping technologies that could shape India’s future.</lang>

<p style=".Bodylaser">
	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">The numbers tell an inspiring story. As of the DPIIT’s latest count, India has more than 1.25 lakh DPIIT-recognized start-ups. Of these, 15,000-20,000 are estimated to have at least one founder from Gen Z, making them 12-15 percent of the overall start-up ecosystem. Their presence is especially visible in AI, deep-tech, SaaS, fintech, healthcare and quick commerce.</lang>

<p style=".Bodylaser">
	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Leading this wave are Aadit Palicha, 23, and Kaivalya Vohra, 22, the founders of Zepto, who built one of India’s fastest-growing quick-commerce companies while still in their twenties. Healthcare entrepreneur 24-year-old Arjun Deshpande, founder of Generic Aadhaar, is another example of how young Indians are solving real-world problems through innovation.</lang>

	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Hyderabad is rapidly becoming one of India’s leading hubs for budding entrepre-neurs. The city’s vibrant innovation landscape, driven by institutions like T-Hub, T-Works, IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Hyderabad, and BITS Pilani Hyderabad, is nurturing a new wave of founders in fields such as deep-tech, defense, and space technology. Among these innovators are 21-year-olds Jayant Khatari and Sourya Choudhury, who established Apollyon Dynamics. Their defense-tech startup has successfully raised Rs 4 crore in pre-seed funding and provided advanced drones to the Army. The achievement of Skyroot Aerospace, founded by Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka, serves as an inspiration for numerous young engineers to dream big. Although Skyroot’s founders are from an earlier generation, the company has an av-erage employee age of around 28 years, highlighting the vital role of young talent in advancing India’s private space sector.</lang>

	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Srinath Ravichandran, co-founder of Agnikul Cosmos, exemplifies the new wave of tech entrepreneurs bringing India to the global arena. Established during his 20s, Ag-nikul has showcased India’s prowess in privately developing and launching rockets with a single-piece, 3D-printed semi-cryogenic engine. Remarkably, the average age of Agnikul’s workforce is just 23 years, making it one of India’s youngest high-tech teams and highlighting Gen Z’s role in spearheading innovation within the burgeon-ing space economy. Industry estimates indicate that between 250,000 and 400,000 Gen Z entrepreneurs in India are running direct-to-consumer brands, e-commerce platforms, digital agencies, and small businesses. Even more noteworthy is the emer-gence of the side-hustle economy. A Mastercard-LinkedIn study revealed that over 45% of young Indians are either managing or aim to start side ventures, which in-clude AI content studios, app development, consulting, freelancing, and digital com-merce. This trend translates into an estimated 1.5 to 2 million Gen Z solopreneurs.</lang>
</p>
<p style=".Bodylaser">
	<lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Minion Pro" fontStyle="Regular" size="9">Research by CyberMedia Research (CMR) and iQOO reveals that 9% of Indian Gen Z prioritize entrepreneurship over traditional corporate careers. In line with this, LinkedIn has noted a 104% year-on-year increase in Indians adding “Founder” to their profiles, with Gen Z at the forefront as technology and AI reduce entry barriers. Additionally, a Titan Capital-Hurun analysis shows that founders under 30 are 1.75 times more likely than those aged 31-40 to establish software companies and 1.44 times more likely to start healthcare ventures, highlighting the areas where India’s next wave of innovation is emerging.</lang>
