Ministerfor Labour, Employment, Training and Factories Vivek Venkat Swamy on Friday called upon unemployed youth to make the best use of skill development programmes and overseas employment opportunities being created by the State government.

He was speaking at the Foreign Employment Mega Job Mela organised by the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) here on Friday.

The Minister said that after the formation of Telangana, job aspirants had waited nearly a decade for employment opportunities and added that the Congress government has already filled nearly one lakh government vacancies.

He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has envisioned transforming Telangana into a three-trillion-dollar economy under the Telangana Rising initiative, with a strong focus on developing a skilled workforce.

As part of the initiative, the government plans to establish 120 Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) across the State at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore. Despite financial constraints, nearly Rs 4,000 crore will be mobilised through Tata Group’s CSR support, he said. The centres will provide training in emerging sectors such as virtual analysis and design, electric vehicle maintenance and digital manufacturing, besides offering a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to trainees.

Vivek Venkat Swamy said TOMCOM has also been strengthened to provide skill training, language coaching and overseas placements.

He encouraged youth to be willing to relocate for employment, stating that quality jobs are available in Hyderabad, other Indian cities and abroad. Referring to opportunities in Germany, he said trained candidates could earn substantially higher salaries and legally undertake part-time work while employed there. Addressing the gathering, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the foundation stone for a Rs 45-crore ATC building has already been laid in Husnabad, enabling local youth to access advanced skill training closer to home. He also announced a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 for students learning the German language in Husnabad and proposed establishing a dedicated German Language Training Centre.

He further assured that a driving school would be sanctioned for the constituency to improve overseas employment prospects.

The Minister highlighted several development works taken up in Husnabad, including a 250-bed hospital, Ellamma Cheruvu tourism development, an industrial park and an urban forest park.

Nearly 1,500 unemployed youth registered for the mega job mela, and the Ministers distributed appointment letters to selected candidates.
