A group of Justice Deprived Engineering Colleges has urged the State government to implement a uniform provisional tuition fee of Rs 47,000 for all engineering colleges during EAPCET-2026 counselling. In a representation submitted to HRD & IT Minister Nara Lokesh, the association requested that Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission be allowed to finalise tuition fee for 2026–27 to 2028–29 block period after completing the statutory fee fixation process.

As an alternative, the association proposed a two-tier provisional fee structure, recommending Rs 47,000 for general engineering colleges and Rs 52,000 – Rs 55,000 for institutions with NAAC Grade A and above accreditation. It contended that continuing the previous block period’s fee structure without fresh APHERMC determination could invite legal challenges, create disparities among institutions, and undermine the transparency and independence of the fee fixation process. The association appealed to the government to adopt a fair, transparent, and legally sustainable policy for the upcoming admission counselling.
