RevenueMinister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Friday said every farmer in the state would be issued a ‘Bhoodhar’ land card along with a scientifically prepared survey map within the next two years under the government’s flagship Bhu Bharati land records reform programme.

Addressing the Rythu Ashirvada Sabha at Jagannathapuram in Chinthakani mandal of Khammam district, the Minister said the initiative would ensure comprehensive survey of all agricultural lands and bring greater transparency and accuracy to land records.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Cabinet colleagues and public representatives attended the programme, during which the state government released Rs 9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for farmers.

Ponguleti said survey under the Bhu Bharati programme was progressing in 70 villages in every district. As part of a pilot project, land surveys in Mulgumad revenue village in Madhira Assembly constituency had been completed and 476 farmers were issued Bhoodhar cards with survey maps.

The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister distributed the cards to beneficiaries at the meeting.

The Minister said the government filled 71,000 government posts during its first two years in office and would shortly issue notifications for another 17,000 to 20,000 posts.

Highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, he said Rs 63,000 crore had been extended as interest-free financial assistance to women’s self-help groups with the objective of economically empowering nearly one crore women.

Targeting the Opposition, Ponguleti alleged that they are attempting to blame the present administration for their failures in the past and reiterated allegations of corruption in the execution of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He said the government was committed to transparent governance and implementation of welfare programmes.

The Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to providing houses to all eligible poor families under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, adding that the second phase of house-site distribution has been completed and the remaining phases would be implemented at the earliest.
