Actingon orders from the SP, the police conducted a special inspection drive targeting vehicles without numberplates in the Pebbair municipal area. Officers inspected vehicles in front of the local police station and at Subhash Crossroads, identifying over 70 operating without numberplates. They moved them to the station.

Subsequently, the police educated vehicle-owners about road safety and regulations of the Motor Vehicles Act. The vehicles were released only after new numberplates were fixed in compliance with rules and their importance was explained. Fines amounting to Rs 50,000 were imposed on motorists for various violations.

SI Venkateswarlu Goud stated that driving vehicles without numberplates is illegal. Such vehicles are often susceptible to use in criminal activities. He emphasised that numberplates play a crucial role in investigation of thefts and other crimes. Strict action would be taken against those riding two-wheelers without helmets. Vehicles violating regulations would be seized and cases registered under the MV Act.
