BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra as the leader of the BRS Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha.

Ravichandra, who had been serving as the deputy leader of the party in Parliament, succeeds KR Suresh Reddy following the completion of the latter’s Rajya Sabha tenure. His current term as a Rajya Sabha member is scheduled to continue until April 2030.

KCR elevated Ravichandra to the top parliamentary post, acknowledging his contributions to the party and his representation of backward classes and other social groups. Ravichandra was earlier nominated to the Rajya Sabha after Dr. Banda Prakash Mudiraj moved to the Telangana Legislative Council and was later re-elected for a second term with the party leadership’s backing.

Ravichandra called on KCR and received his blessings shortly after the appointment. During the meeting, KCR formally handed over the appointment letter naming him the BRS Parliamentary Party Leader and Leader of the Party in the Rajya Sabha.

Expressing his gratitude, Ravichandra presented a bouquet to KCR and thanked him for reposing confidence in his leadership. Ravichandra said he would discharge the responsibility with humility, raise Telangana’s concerns effectively in Parliament, strengthen the party, and work towards bringing KCR back to power for a third term.

In return, KCR felicitated the Rajya Sabha member with a ceremonial shawl, conveyed his best wishes, and expressed confidence in his role as the party’s voice in Parliament.
